The Gentle Art Collective
Founded by Damien Kiely
The Gentle Art Collective was founded by Damien Kiely, a practitioner whose relationship with Jiu Jitsu reshaped not only his movement, but his life.
For Damien, Jiu Jitsu became a language of structure, patience, and presence. As someone who is neurodivergent, he experienced firsthand how traditional environments, textures, and overstimulating design can create barriers rather than belonging. On the mat, he found a discipline rooted in flow, problem-solving, and quiet control—principles that brought balance and confidence.
That experience planted the foundation for The Gentle Art Collective: apparel that honors Jiu Jitsu as an art form, designed with comfort, restraint, and thoughtfulness in mind—including consideration for fabric-sensitive individuals. The goal is simple: remove unnecessary distraction so practitioners can remain present, focused, and at ease.
This is a calmer expression of strength—shaped by lived experience, made for growth, balance, and belonging, on and off the mat.
